Dr. Jayna Raghwani
Virus evolution & ecology | Co-Principal Investigator, Royal Veterinary College
Dr. Jayna Raghwani is a computational biologist specialising in the evolution and ecology of rapidly changing viruses. Her research combines evolutionary genetics, genomics, and disease ecology to explore how viruses spread and evolve across different scales. Currently, she is developing new methods to uncover viral transmission patterns using metaviromic data and studying virus dynamics in wildlife populations that can act as reservoirs for emerging viral diseases. More broadly, her work focuses on how viruses circulate in natural populations and how environmental changes influence the risk of disease spillover and emergence.
