Avery Holmes

Viral Macroecology | Postgraduate Researcher, University of Glasgow

Avery is interested in fundamental patterns in viral ecology, particularly when and how virus transmission through geographical and ecological space is constrained by host and environmental traits. His project focuses on using data mining to examine how host life history and ecological traits affect virus diversity across mammalian orders, and using metaviromics to investigate how rodent virus diversity, community composition, and cross-species transmission vary across a land use gradient.
